The Japanese Tea Garden’s newly renovated Pagoda Plaza provides a unique and stunning backdrop for intimate after-hours ceremonies and standing cocktail receptions, surrounded by vibrant seasonal blooms and traditional Japanese architecture. Whether you’re exchanging vows beneath the towering pagoda or sharing a toast beneath the twilight sky, your celebration will be nothing short of magical.

Availability
After-hours only from April through the 1st Saturday of November, beginning after we close to the public.
Pricing
For a quote, please complete the event inquiry form. To confirm your reservation, a site visit is recommended, and a signed rental contract, and a 50% deposit is required.
The Japanese Tea Garden’s newly renovated Pagoda Plaza provides a unique and stunning backdrop for intimate after-hours ceremonies and standing cocktail receptions. Capacity is up to 50 people in the Pagoda Plaza for a seated ceremony and/or a standing reception.
Event Rental Options
1 Hour Ceremony
During daylight hours.
Up to 50 people in the Pagoda Plaza. Includes chairs and setup, and time for photos. No food or beverage is permitted. Available April-September from 6:30pm-7:30pm.
2 Hour Ceremony and/or Standing Cocktail Reception
During daylight hours.
Up to 50 people in the Pagoda Plaza for a seated ceremony and/or a standing reception. Includes up to 50 chairs and a limited number of tables. Available May-August from 6:30-8:30pm
3 Hour Ceremony and/or Standing Cocktail Reception
Up to 50 people in the Pagoda Plaza for a seated ceremony and/or a standing reception. Includes up to 50 chairs, a limited number of tables, and lighting. Full access to the Garden is not included after sunset. Available May through the 1st Saturday of November from 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Japanese Tea Garden FAQ
The Japanese Tea Garden will be closed to the public during private event rentals.
There is no dedicated WiFi within the Garden. Depending on your phone carrier, cell service is accessible in most of the Garden.
Limited street parking is available on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and surrounding streets. The Music Concourse Parking Garage is within walking distance of the Garden. For the hours and for additional information goldengateparking.com
