About the Program
A part of Litquake Secret Garden series
Kick off our afternoon event series Litquake Secret Garden with contributors to The Common’s Farmworker Portfolio plus music!
2025 marks the fifteen-year anniversary of The Common, a literary magazine dedicated to deepening readers’ sense of place. To celebrate, contributors across the country are hosting events to transport people to new places with their work. Kick off our afternoon event series Litquake Secret Garden with Nora Rodriguez Camagna and Amanda Mei Kim—two contributors to The Common’s Farmworker Portfolio (Issue 26)—along with Jaime Cortez, author of the short story collection Gordo, as they honor farmworker creativity and resiliency. In the current political climate, they’ll invite us to look beyond physical labor to explore their #FarmworkerLit inspirations and aspirations. Moderated by critic Anita Felicelli. Limited seating. BYO chair or blanket, encouraged. No RSVP required.
Musical interludes by Rosie Cima and Jenny Haniver.
Book sales for this event coordinated by Green Apple Books.
