About the Program

Join Christopher Pollock, Historian-in-Residence for the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department, on a walking tour in Golden Gate Park’s east end. The walk will be easy-to-moderate and will include an overview of the park’s history.

Starting with the Conservatory of Flowers (1879), which was the earliest public building in the park, the tour will finish at the Music Concourse, where the racetrack-shaped bowl, created by man and beasts of burden, will be discussed. Other highlights will be the National AIDS Memorial Grove, the Shakespeare Garden, and more. Details will be sent to registrants before the event. Heavy rain cancels.
