About the Program

Celebrate the season with a festive evening of wine, watercolors, and good company at the Conservatory of Flowers!

Unwind from the holiday hustle with an exclusive after-hours experience led by artist Marco Flavio that blends botanical discovery with creative fun. Enjoy complimentary wine and light refreshments as you explore the galleries and take inspiration from the Conservatory’s iconic architecture and tropical plants on view. Then, bring to life three original, hand-drawn holiday cards created by Marco.

All materials will be provided, no prior experience is needed. Marco will guide you through the process of using watercolor pencils, allowing you to add your own colorful flair to these special designs that will only be available to attendees of this evening’s celebration. Recommended for ages 15 and up—space is limited.

Please contact  membership@gggp.org for the private link to purchase your tickets for Wine & Watercolors.

About the Instructor

Marco Flavio is a working watercolor artist and instructor at the Gardens of Golden Gate Park, where he has led the popular Paint What’s in Bloom watercolor classes throughout 2026, with more sessions planned for 2027. Trained in classical painting in Italy and printmaking in Japan, Marco also teaches art privately and publicly throughout the Bay Area. At the heart of his practice is painting from life, a way of seeing that shapes everything he creates: slowing down, noticing what matters, and responding to what is in front of him.
