San Francisco Botanical Garden — Check in at Main Gate
About the Program
Join Herbalist + Multidisciplinary Healer Allie Brown, for an immersive Cyanotype + Herbal Tea Blending workshop. Participants will leave with a Cyanotype print and an Herbal Tea Infusion blend, inspired by the transition from Spring to Summer.
We will venture on a plant foraging and meditation walk around the Botanical Garden. Bring personal objects, if you would like to further personalize your print (i.e., jewelry, crystals, etc.). The art of creating with nature fosters dialogue, while translating its beauty and wisdom.
Cyanotype is an early monochromatic camera-less photographic process that uses photosensitive iron salts to create prints with a vibrant and distinctive Prussian blue color. The process involves exposing coated paper or canvas to sunlight, and then developing the image in water. The deep blue hues produced symbolize themes of intuition, depth, expression, and transformation. Harness the power to sun and water, to explore your inner artistic waters. In addition, you will craft an Herbal Tea Infusion, to support the body + nervous system during the warm summer season.
Allie will guide you in a short meditation with sound healing instruments for grounding + expansion.
