About the Program

Join entomology graduate student, researcher, and science communicator Sophia Di Piazza for a guided exploration of the fascinating insects that call the Gardens of Golden Gate Park home. Together, we’ll slow down and take a closer look at the pollinators, beetles, true bugs, and other tiny creatures living among the garden’s plants while learning about the important relationships between insects and the ecosystems they support.

This beginner-friendly nature walk is open to all ages and experience levels, whether you’re a lifelong bug enthusiast or simply curious about the world around you. Come discover how observing insects can reveal a whole new side of the garden and leave with a greater appreciation for the incredible biodiversity thriving right beneath our feet.
