About the Program

Join us for a fun-filled morning of discovery in the garden! Feathered Friends Garden Adventure is a hands-on experience designed for families to explore the world of birds and express their creativity through nature-based art. Taught by art educator and avid San Francisco birder Nancy Palmer, this class blends science and creativity in a welcoming, family-friendly setting.

We’ll begin the morning with birdwatching basics, then head into the garden to observe feathered friends in their natural habitats. After the walk, we’ll settle in for a creative art session using natural materials and inspiration from what we’ve seen.

This month’s workshop will focus on spring nesting activity!  As the season unfolds, many birds are busy building nests, gathering materials, and preparing to raise their young. During our garden exploration, we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for signs of nesting behavior and learn how birds create safe homes for their families.

Whether you’re spotting birds in the treetops or creating bird-inspired artwork, this class connects kids and parents with nature in a fun and meaningful way. Bring your curiosity, your binoculars, and get ready to explore, create, and learn together!
