Ruth Wilcox, is an active volunteer at the Gardens and in her community. Since returning from Shanghai, China where she lived for four years, Wilcox has served as a Children’s Walk Guide at the Botanical Garden, served on the Exhibitions and Publications Committee at the Asian Art Museum, and volunteered with both the Asia Society and the Society for Asian Art. While in China, she co-chaired the Outreach Committee for the American Women’s Club and contributed articles to travel and culture magazines for the foreign community there. Prior to that, she served on the Board of the San Jose Repertory Theatre and was active in several school PTA groups. Wilcox was a consultant for many years with retail and technology companies on training programs and management development and had a long career in the catalog business at Talbots before that. She is a graduate of Hood College in Maryland and has an MS in Journalism from Boston University. Wilcox joined the Gardens Board in 2017.
