Susan Hunter

Follow SusanSusan Hunter was elected to the San Francisco Botanical Garden Board in 2019. She earned a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School with majors in Finance and Management, graduating with honors, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she was a Regents Scholar.
She’s a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California and is currently working at Pacific Gas and Electric Company as a director of Technical Accounting. She’s been an active participant within the Edison Electric Institute, serving both chair and vice chair terms, and co-authoring a white paper supporting the adoption of regulatory accounting by the International Accounting Standards. Previously, Susan held the position of Chief Financial Officer of Fuelco, LLC and has extensive experience analyzing complex energy procurement contracts supporting California’s clean energy goals.
She received her Master Gardener Certificate from the University of the District of Columbia after completing 50 hours of volunteer work at the United States Botanic Garden where she served as a docent. She moved to San Francisco 15 years ago and relishes the wonderful outdoor spaces throughout the City. She continues to volunteer with the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the San Francisco Botanical Garden as a way to contribute to the trails and spaces where she loves to run, relax and spend time with family. She also enjoys experimenting in her own garden; in 2007, her rooftop garden was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle.
