8-10am
San Francisco Botanical Garden — Meet at Main Gate
About the Program
Come “backyard bird” at one of the best gardens in San Francisco — beautiful and full of native plants that attract amazing birds all year round! Take time to sit and enjoy the birds of the California Native Garden.
Whether you’re new to bird watching or a longtime birder, this is a great way to relax, listen, watch, and share observations. Bring along anything that makes this experience more fun for you — a camera, journal, or just yourself. A field guide will be available to reference birds, and there will be time to chat about the birds you see and hear.
Recommended Supplies
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Hat and layers
- Portable chair
- Binoculars (a few pairs of binoculars are available to borrow on a first-come, first-serve basis)
Please email birdcurious@goldengatebirds.org with any questions, or if you require specific accommodations. Make sure to include Botanical Gardens in the subject line.
About Bird Curious
Bird Curious is a group affiliated with the Golden Gate Bird Alliance that’s designed for new birders, and those who enjoy sharing knowledge with new birders. Our purpose is to create community around birds and deepen our relationship with nature through shared education and discovery.
