Garden Camp Registration Open Now!

It’s time to learn, grow, and have fun at Garden Camp! We invite rising kindergarteners through 8th graders to join us for an engaging and enriching summer camp experience immersed in nature and the outdoors.

Campers will connect and make lasting memories with friends, old and new, participating in fun, and educational activities rooted in gardening, ecology, art, and wellness.

On a typical Garden Camp day, campers will arrive at the front of the Botanical Garden for check-in at 9am. All groups will have gardening and ecology lessons, arts and crafts, games, and plenty of Garden exploration. Groups will break for lunchtime around noon each day, giving campers a chance to rest, and refuel in preparation for their afternoon adventures.

All groups have the flexibility to adapt their activities, perhaps singing or storytelling, based on campers’ interests. At the end of the day, campers will return to the designated zone for the day’s recap and easy pick-up. Campers can anticipate being on their feet walking much of the day and they can also expect to get their hands dirty!

Garden camp is great and located in such a special place!”

We strive to give children ages 5-14 years old the opportunity to form new friendships and time to nurture existing ones. We understand that children may feel more comfortable attending camp with someone they know and feel comfortable with. If your child would like to attend camp with a friend or sibling (within a 2-year age range), please indicate the friend’s name in the buddy request section of the registration form.

“Sweet and caring counselors…”

We aim to ensure the most rewarding, age-appropriate experience possible for campers of all abilities; to this end, we maintain a ratio of two adults to twelve children maximum for each two-week session. If your child requires an aide at school, please communicate with us early to help us meet the needs of your child. Aides attending with children will need to undergo a background check in advance of accompanying their camper to Garden Camp. Contact gardencamp@gggp.org to connect with a staff member with specific questions. For FAQs including information about Gardens of Golden Gate Park Member benefits, scholarships, and to register visit our Garden Camp page.

At Garden Camp we offer children time and space to explore – making invaluable connections to nature and to people, encouraging a lifelong love for learning, and developing a deep and lasting appreciation for the Gardens of Golden Gate Park.
