Experience the beauty of our newest offering, the Japanese Tea Garden, for your next event.
Our redesigned Pagoda Plaza surrounds the Japanese Tea Garden’s historical pagoda, which won the California Preservation Foundation’s 2023 Preservation Design Award for Craftsmanship/Preservation Technology! The renewed open plaza space will serve as a gathering space for private events such as ceremonies and standing cocktail receptions, as well as cultural events like taiko performances, bonsai demonstrations, and more.
Perfect for intimate afterhours ceremonies or cocktail parties, the beautifully renovated Pagoda Plaza can accommodate up to 50 people.
One of the things that makes the Japanese Tea Garden so special is how the space changes with every turn—and every season.
You might cross the iconic Drum Bridge, wander into the Dry Landscape Garden or come across the Buddha, quietly watching over the Garden. In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom alongside bright purple irises and in the fall the ginkgo trees explode in gold. The Pagoda Plaza is the only space available within the Garden for private events, and with so many beautiful sights nearby, it offers the perfect backdrop for your event.
We are excited to share a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a lighting partner to help us create an enchanting winter lights installation at the Gardens of Golden Gate Park.
