Nature’s Palette: Northern California’s Flora and Skies Paintings by Sheila Finch

June – September 2026

Please join us for the artist’s reception on Sunday, June 14, from 4-6pm.

Sheila Finch is captivated by the raw strength and quiet elegance of the land and sea. Her latest works reflect the untamed beauty of Northern California and the Bay Area, capturing serene, expansive moments from nature’s most peaceful corners.

“Each painting evolves through a dynamic, push-and-pull process, taking weeks or even years to fully capture the essence of a fleeting, yet meaningful, moment in time.”

About the Artist

Sheila Finch’s paintings are collected worldwide, and have most recently been acquired for the permanent collection of the Carnegie Foundation at Stanford, Paul Weiss in New York, and the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford.

Sheila has received recognition from the National Arts Appreciation Program, as well as a prestigious show of work at Picasso’s atelier at L’Espace Bateau Lavoir in Paris.

Finch’s painting entitled “Strands of Gold” is featured on the first edition of The Land’s Wild Music: Encounters with Barry Lopez, Peter Matthiessen, Terry Tempest Williams, & James Galvin, by Mark Tredinnick.

“My goal is to reflect a timeless connection to the natural world, one that resonates beyond the visual and into a deeper sense of presence.”
