Renovation for Botanical Garden Access Improvements Begins

Projects at the Garden continue to enhance accessibility and improve the visitor experience.

Summer 2025

As of July 21, 2025, the Friend (North) Gate will be closed for more than a month with visitors directed to enter the Main Gate at 1199 9th Avenue. Please note that the Great Meadow Restroom is also under renovation and temporary restrooms are available in front of the nearby Celebration Garden.

This summer, barrier removal projects continue at the Botanical Garden including the renovation of the Meadow Restroom and extensive pathway work throughout the Botanical Garden. This work will enhance accessibility of the Gardens and improve your experience as a visitor.

The pathway work is removing existing paving and replacing it with adjusted grade and ramps to ensure all ADA-designated paths of travel within the Botanical Garden are fully compliant with current regulations. While this pathway work is happening, we are working to minimize the impact on visitors and operations. While main paths in sections may be closed, we will do our best to keep secondary mulch and gravel paths open to allow access to the Gardens and collections where possible. We encourage you to explore and enjoy the Garden but be aware construction is happening and please obey path closures for safety.

We appreciate your patience as we make these exciting, important renovations!
