About the Program

In this talk, the UC Master Gardeners will discuss aspects of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), a science-based and sustainable strategy, as well as specific IPM recommendations for healthy plants this season. They will also provide ideas for how to stay healthy while gardening.

About the Speakers

Barbara Cohrssen joined the UC Master Gardener program in 2007 while still employed editing books on occupational health, safety, and toxicology. She has interests in native plants, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), staying healthy while working in the garden and keeping her lemon and avocado trees fruitful. She also leads the monthly MG table at the Divisadero Farmers Market every 3rd Sunday, where you can come by for gardening tips and often free plants and seeds.

Austin Hoffmann is a UC Master Gardener from the class of 2022 and a Program Educator for the UC Master Gardener Program in San Francisco. He’s a former organic grower who’s familiar with a variety of plant production methods and currently gardens a backyard in SF and a sunny community garden plot. He is always trying something new in the garden.

RSVP Required. Heavy rain cancels. Admission to the Garden is free for San Francisco residents, veterans, Museums for All/EBT participants, and Gardens members.

Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
