3-4pm
San Francisco Botanical Garden — Meet at Main Gate

About the Program

Marta Lindsey, author of the new book Discovering Golden Gate Park: A Local’s Guide, will lead a walk of the Botanical Garden that takes a look beyond the plants and into the past. As we hunt for the medieval monastery stones found throughout the Botanical Garden, Marta will share some surprising stories about the history of the Garden. Plus, Magnolia season makes it a particularly stunning time of year to be in the Botanical Garden.

Space is limited, and the nominal fee directly supports the Garden. Copies of the book, Discovering Golden Gate Park: A Local’s Guide, will be on sale at the Botanical Garden bookstore. Marta is available to sign books before and after the walk. The one-hour walk starts and ends at the Botanical Garden bookstore near the Main Gate. The walk is around 1.0 mile total and all paths are accessible.
