To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the reopening of the Conservatory of Flowers, which took place on September 20, 2003, local historian and author Christopher Pollock will share the storied history of the greenhouse from its concept as part of the Golden Gate Park master plan, initial construction, and tracing through the many pivotal, as well as interesting incidental, events during its 145-year history.

Join us in the library to celebrate our beautiful new art exhibit, California Birds and Plants: Papercut Artwork by Daniela Yew. Delicate and intricate, these black and white portraits of birds and plants of California are wonders of close observation, concentration, and detailed craftsmanship.
Enjoy our winter light show, Photosynthesis: Love for All Seasons, beginning 30 minutes after sunset every night. The light show transforms the outside of the Conservatory into a canvas for colorful light art installed by Lumigeek accompanied by music composed by Tim Digulla. The show is free to the public and is about 30 minutes long. Bundle up and enjoy from our front lawns!
Photosynthesis: Love for All Seasons will continue to run during the Conservatory's closure for annual maintenance from January 10, 2024 to January 24, 2024. Enjoy!
